Re-Pot Me Allot Me

I guess as to which side was the winning side. I guess wrongly. My impression of the edge was a bit duller than was expected. The grindstone came out, the sparks began to fly, the steel was worked and shaped to a point of perfection. We had done it. We had crafted the perfect cutting edge that would slice the thinnest cheese or the hardest wood.

It never really dawned on me that the cheese would go so well with a baguette. I couldn't reject the idea that it might sustain me through dinner, even. I adored the idea of having this for eternity, however long that is. I suppose eternity could be until tomorrow? Or even yesterday? So, I guess its true. I had this until eternity.

Lunch Is On The Patio

Talk and talk about all the great things that are happening to you. Sit down and have a listen to what it is that you're saying to the rest of the world. Reheat the food that was never leftover.

Sitting flanked by your elders. They love you. You feel safe there but also realize that you've been bumped up a notch. You've grown up a little more, even though you're the same size, same name, same favorite songs, same TV shows. Same shoe size. But the shoe fits better now and you're wearing it.

Crisp

A square shot of formula for thumbing. You can dry the flower in it, write a note in it, pull out the card and look at all the people who checked it out before you and then look up their faces in yearbooks of the past. Stop for a second and then put your hands on your belly while you daydream and think about the light that's coming in through the eyebrow windows above the tall, stately bookshelves. Get your snowshoes on and head over for lunch.

Gloria Was An Entitled Lass, Chapter 2

The evening had grown long and I premeditated the conversation I was actually having at this very moment. Unfortunately, tumbling spectacles aren't always part of the plan and a wrench was thrown into the works. All went awry. I had to save face by making an abrupt departure while simultaneously straightening my hanky in my coat pocket.

When I arrived home, I skipped the pleasant mumbles of the fish tank in the foyer and opted for a brief view of the city scape from the picture window with my scopes. They were an old pair of scopes, ones I had inherited from my grandfather upon his passing, scopes that he used to navigate our sailing adventures during my youngster years vacationing in the rugged waters of the Northeast. The aged elements lent me the vision of the warming embers that often emanate from profile of a city on cool evening, which in turn gave me inner warmth. During my introspective moment of perceived personal privacy, Gloria entered the room behind me, without warning, and hurled slivers of passion fruit at me, slapping and then sticking to the glass that I was previously so comfortably peering through. I whipped myself around to try and decipher just exactly what the problem was and I found it hard to discern whether or not it was I who was at fault for some unknown deed or if it was mere playfulness. Her expression was ambiguous.

A Shapeshifter's Memorandum

I Will Pluck The Feathers Right From The Hat

Burn ye not your fingers for they are not chicken fingers they are human fingers. Touch ye not your face for it is your face not someone else's face. Scrape ye not your house of paint because it is new paint, not paint that is old. Hurt ye not your feelings as they are not for hurting but for preserving.

Ah, ye olde world of goode. Twelve after twelve and we set sail at high noon of the night.

In Search Of Tony's Hardware

If one were to skip town in excellent time, to sweep floors in the log cabin, sleep in drawers, to eat, to pay rent in cold hard cash, one might find themselves descending into purple fashion drawers. That is to say Drawing on walls, in public pools, in diary making scenarios that when revisited over time, a small skeleton key could be found. To chain oneself up and throw away the key only to blame it on another for being chained up in the first place. Replace key. Not only replace it, but polish it and keep it on the finest brass hook near the door.

In A Spiritual Fashion

You can try and alleviate your own brand of fashion, but it's more

than likely that it won't get you anywhere.

At least not today.

Apple Landings

The tree has fallen far from the apple. Skipping class in a May
afternoon excuses me from crass interpretation, but walking alone to
the store for chips still persists. A removal of facades from the
burdened house which wants a new tenant but is till under
construction. Re. Building.

Last chapter we spoke of two sided arguments and how to make them as
one. A greater strategy is to remember that snuffing the lamp that
shines over the one whom you may love will give you the brightest
vision of them you might possibly ever have.

Next class: a how-to guide for removing bad apples from your internal
bushel basket.

I Split The Hair

Its been long known that the reason for pure exiting was fore-fathered in a whirlwind. Let's get to the bottom of the issue and release the harrowing praise that we all know and love. Escape the true meaning of boodlebaye and rip out the dictionary pages that were stained by your spilled coffee grounds. Re-bleach them and look even more closely at the meanings, then the etymology. Eddie and Molly, gee, where did they wind up? Two kids so in love but so young.

Edging Closer And Closer

I wasn't my last grasp nor was it my first. It wasn't a long story but it wasn't a short one. Everything came out fine in the end. I'll read it over and over again, though, as if I've never heard the story before and I'll tell and tell and tell it again to insure that everyone's heard it. Fortunately everyone else already has and they'll pretend that they haven't. We've all heard it before, although I prefer to think of it as a story that is especially my own.

Such an incredible din. Please skip the dessert. Who'd go to such lengths to achieve mediocrity? Bland, disproportionate examples of being interesting in a contrived, premeditated way.

Andre The Giant, Rubber Chickens and Granny's Sookers

Their attention had wandered off somewhere to a point above the highest branch but a brown bag of sandwiches would surely bring them back from cloud nine. It was escaping me just exactly what sort of dessert was included in the boxed meal, but a flailing rice cake and the smell of breadwater edged off my conscious thought as being more than adequate.

Not long after the meal, stories were told until finally someone got offended and there was little recourse apart from jumping in the ring and settling the score. The ropes weren't colored, but the antagonistic banter was more radiant than the lights of Las Vegas itself.

Crushed ice in a plastic cup

I eventually scraped up enough money to take a walk and buy a new pair of sneakers and while culpable for the damage to my finances they incurred, I felt no remorse nor did I make any attempt to rectify the fact that I was late, later than I had ever been, to a worthwhile appointment. The bravado that was present in my demeanor that day was undeniable. The sun was out and so was I and all the world was for me to admire. The smallest things meant the most and I was feeling in tune, although in hindsight, I was actually a little more sharp that I might have realized. A simple gesture from the Conductor corrected all that pretty promptly and I moved on to learn yet another lesson.
