I skipped class and found Eddie near the back entrance. I bummed a smoke off him and we talked about my car and his ex-girfriend. I flicked my ash, burnt my knuckle and then felt self conscious when I realized that I had a poppy seed in my teeth after I just ripped a bare bone from the chicken carcass in the cafeteria. The lights were on at home but nobody was there plus I was pals with Eddie and that meant I could just waltz right into the attendance office and get a note before we went to the Mets game. I hated the Mets, but if it meant I could get out of school early for the afternoon, then I was their biggest fan.
Eddie and I parted ways since he was being kind of a prick anyway and I knew I had film class after lunch. I headed over across the street to the deli to get my second egg sandwich for the day and cracked smile. Rich was there with brand new hi tops on save for the pen he had used on the side of the sole. Laura had a mole. We smoked a bowl.
